It's interesting that I had planned on putting these older strips up here about a week ago and then found out that there is a new movie coming out called CLICK, starring Adam Sandler. The movie is apparently about a man who buys a remote that allows him to control his life.
This is very similar to what I have, but part of the reason that I abandoned this strip was since I figured it was too obvious. In fact, about two months after I created these there was a phone commercial with a guy on a street corner in his recliner controlling people with his remote control.
I think I got the idea for Remote Man from Randy Glasbergen's Getting Started Drawing & Selling Cartoons on page 86, the punch line being "Don't fast-forward your baby brother!!"
Anyway, Remote Man was actually going to be a super-hero actor, who happened to have a special remote. Just a lazy man and a recliner. I actually had written up the first month worth of strips, but didn't finish them and threw them out sometime after the above mentioned phone commercial. While I wish I could say that they stole my idea for their movie it isn't true, it just happens to be an obvious idea.
So, here were a couple that were finished and survived my constant destruction creation process.
